Blatant psychological manipulation via powerful narrative

Everyone loves an underdog. From Rocky to Fleabag, there’s a unique appeal in the concept of someone plucky enough to take on odds that are stacked against them. Steely determination and self-belief steer the underdog to reach their goals and endear themselves to everyone in the process. It’s something that we all connect to because that’s the person we want to be or to have in our own lives. The underdog is someone we all really want to get behind because we believe they can do something great.
